“This is one of the reasons that students say they don’t like math. It’s like eating a grilled cheese sandwich every day for lunch. You get bored of it and after a while, you never want to see another grilled cheese for the rest of your life!
But get your kid in the kitchen making that sandwich. Show them the ingredients that go into it. Let them get messy, let them try different things. Eventually they will want to help with more in the kitchen. They’ll build on that knowledge and eventually expand their skill set into creating other foods. Before you know it, you have a junior chef on your hands!!
We want our students to feel like mathematicians, not just kids who have to get through a math class. We can give them the tools to build deeper, long lasting success with math concepts that builds into a lifetime of mathematical achievement.”
